FOOD SAFETY TRAINING

Food legislation has always put the responsibility for ensuring the production of safe food on business operators but the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 make explicit the business operator's responsibility for assessing and managing food safety hazards. The regulations also require all food handlers to be aware of the basic principles of food hygiene & food safety.

GT Foodtech is registered with The Royal Institute of Public Health & Hygiene as well as The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health to run courses leading to:-

The RIPHH Primary Certificate in Food Hygiene & First Certificate in Food Safety.

The CIEH Basic Food Hygiene Certificate & Food Hygiene Options Certificate.

The Primary Certificate in Food Hygiene & Basic Food Hygiene Certificate are well established courses which cover the basic principles of good food hygiene, such as hazard awareness, temperature control,  microbiology, methods of preservation, building design, personal hygiene & legislation.

The First Certificate in Food Safety is a relatively new course which has integrated these basic principles as contributory factors in the overall aim of managing hygiene to produce safe food. It has been devised to meet the need of all food handlers to be aware of food safety hazards and the ways in which they can be eliminated.

The Food Hygiene Modules Certificate not only gives food handlers an understanding of basic principles but allows them to study additional modules which deal more specifically with that branch of the food industry in which they work.

Courses are normally run for fifteen candidates and can be held at the clients premises or off site.

The cost to society is estimated to be between £11 & £16 billion.

GT Foodtech is registered with The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health to run courses leading to:-

HAZARD ANALYSIS CRITICAL CONTROL POINTS TRAINING

British & European Law requires that all businesses involved in the selling or processing of food identify all the steps within their activities which are critical to food safety and ensure adequate safety controls are in place, maintained & reviewed.
HACCP ( Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points)  is a formal system which will help you to comply with this legal requirement.
Whilst the Food Safety Act already puts the responsibility for ensuring the production of safe food on business operators the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 make explicit the business operator's responsibility for assessing and managing food safety hazards.

GT Foodtech is registered with The Royal Institute of Public Health & Hygiene to run courses leading to The Certificate in HACCP Principles.

This qualification is designed for managers, supervisors & HACCP implementation team members in food manufacturing & processing industries, catering and retail food organisations. It is also designed for those who inspect or audit food premises.

The examination at the end of the two day course is in two sections - to test knowledge of HACCP principles and their application.
